Thick as thieves... a movie review?

Thick as thieves - 2009 : Stars Morgan Freeman , Antonio Banderas ,Radha Mitchell

The plot: Keith Riply (Morgan Freeman) is a cool calculated master thief who lives to the thieves code:- Do the job, watch your partners back, don't hold out, and never co-operate with the cops. He must recruit a common diamond thief (Antonio Banderas) to help him steal two rare and unknown to most people Faberge eggs from an impenetrable Russian vault.

My views: Well the movie opens on a bath house where Riply (Freeman) Is shown Shooting a man (Mainly for later reference in the film) Its A bit of a "ohh i wonder what happened before?" mystery type of scene, gets you guessing from the start.
Then its into an all action start the movie is exciting and action packed from the outset. It's a robbery by Banderas on a train while Freeman looks on and helps out a little on occasion.
This is a good beginning, its fast pace easy to follow and shot well, I almost thought i was in for another all action Morgan Freeman, Hard Rain type of movie... But...

Then there is the movie plot set-up, Threats, a bit of "Do the job or else" Some kinda planning, well a bit of a plan anyway but mostly which Seem to consist of quite alot of forming relationships between characters. A romance blooming between the female lead (Radha Mitchell) and Banderas Who happens to be Freeman's god daughter in the movie, keeping things in a close web of everyone knows everyone. Its all more of a getting to know one another, A who's who more than the robbery planning although saying that it does keep you interested and doesn't get to dull.

So among the "we cant do this Job's" and what little planning that actually goes on for the robbery

The boy's pose as cops to scope out the Job.
it almost looks like its not going to happen... however when push comes to shove (Radha Mitchell is taken hostage as Leverage) So the cunning pair of misfits dive rite into it, they carry out the robbery...
Then all of a sudden there is a big shock twist but i just couldn't seem to care all that much about what was now going on. You could even call it a double twist...? What the heck.

There was a back story running throughout the film that was a cop who had been on Riply's tail for many years that didn't seem to really go anywhere and then this twist Start to an ending that referred back to the beginning scene of the movie, im not going to drop in spoilers here so i'll just say if you like the actors See the film if not maybe give it a miss.

Round up:-  It is worth a watch in my because Freeman is a awesome acting legend!!! And its great to See Banderas back on screen (Not in boots) Plus i stand by My opinion that Assassins Movie (Stallone Vs Banderas) Is fantastic. M.Freeman and A.Banderas are highly watchable in this movie as always, but The end trailed off and became a little weak in my opinion.
A second watch could be in order to change my view a bit but we'll see.

Alternately watch:- 2 Guns, Hard rain, Desperado, The score, Lucky number slevin.
