SPLINTER CELL BLACKLIST REVIEW

I own all the splinter cell games from PSP and 3DS  to PS2 and XBOX360. i think conviction really had some unique ideas and i was very impressed with a lot of components. the Tom Clancy books have made for some really good games and I'm sure their will be many games to follow.

Blacklist has a storyline that you would expect from Tom Clancy in that i can't follow it. their are way too many abbreviations and after a while i forget which group did what. it could be just me but thats what i always find. the very basic concept is very bad people want to kill lots of people Sam Fisher is old but still manages to kick a lot of ass which the help of some awesome gadgets.

The graphics in this game are very good however i found for some reason that the game was so dark that i literally could only play it at night or with the curtains closed. which when its really nice outside makes you feel bad. but you have to otherwise you can't see anything and die in two seconds. i know that the point of the game is to hide in the shadows but i don't want to actually hide in the shadows as well.

Gameplay is much the same as conviction. so you can sneak about and kill people whilst completing your objective. but you feel really badass when you sneak up behind a bloke snap his neck and then shot the guy in front of him straight after. also they have what can only be described as horde mode. so certain missions have you face wave after wave of enemies which can create so much fun. its weird how much joy you get from throwing an incendiary grenade at a group of enemies and watching them burn.

The levels are split into missions which are displayed on a map. i thought it was pretty cool. from here you could choose which missions to do. a small section are single player only and then some are co-op only which to my joy can be done on split screen. the rest however you can do either. also you can customise your load out and choose whether to have stealthly gadgets armour and weapons or a load out thats built for assault. i enjoyed this as it made me feel like i had a choice as to what i went into each mission with.

The achievements are fairly challenging with only a few of them being online. but you could spend a long time trying to get them all, thats a guarantee as not many are related to the storyline.

This game has a lot of really satisfying moments that after playing some rubbish restores my faith in the gaming world. if you have the other games you must buy this one. if you don't give this a go as their is bound to be something here for you.
